A lively public debate exploring one of the biggest questions facing modern food and farming:

“Does genetic modification offer more benefits than risks?”

Hear from a range of field experts as they discuss the future of GM technology, sustainability, food security, and agriculture:

• Professor Denis Murphy: an internationally recognised expert in agriculture, biotechnology and bioinformatics. He has been involved in genetic modification research since the 1980s and currently serves as Biotechnology Advisor to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization. Throughout his career, he has advised governments and international organisations on genetic modification, biofuels and food security.

• Patrick Holden: an organic dairy farmer and founder of the Sustainable Food Trust. A leading advocate for sustainable farming and resilient food systems, he has spent decades championing environmentally responsible agriculture and advising on the future of food production in the UK and beyond.

• Jonathon Harrington: has worked across the agricultural sector for decades, with expertise in agronomy, crop protection, plant science and technical consultancy. Having held roles with organisations including Bayer and Countrywide Farmers, he now provides technical support to farmers and agricultural consultants, while also lecturing at Cardiff University.

• Nick Helme: director of the Wyescapes Landscape Recovery Project and has extensive experience in agriculture, crop production and environmental management. He leads work to improve the ecological health of the River Wye catchment and is involved in a number of landscape recovery and river restoration initiatives.
