Live Music from OLD BABY MACKEREL with support CAUTION HORSES

Doors 7pm   Tickets £15.40   Concessions £11
Come Join us for an evening of Bluegrass at the Globe!

Old Baby Mackerel- play high-energy, foot-stomping Bluegrass featuring some of the UK’s best Bluegrass musicians. Be prepared to be transported back in time to the early 20th century and across the Atlantic to North America where songs dramatized the small town fascination with locomotion, religion and the veneration of whisky and bootleg liquor. Gathered around a single condenser microphone in the true Bluegrass style, the sounds of banjo, guitar, mandolin, fiddle and double bass blend lightning-fast rhythm, virtuosic solos and evocative harmonies to get knees bouncing and elbows swinging.

Caution Horses- Born from a bloodpact, Caution Horses are a Local Bluegrass and Old Time band playing traditional tunes in explorative ways, riding the tune on the edge to see where it may take them.

Woman's Clothes Swap

10am     Tickets £8
Women's clothes swap. Swap 10 unwanted items from your wardrobe for 10 new-to-you items.
How it works:
The clothes can be any size as long as they are in great condition.
Have a good clear out and find your top 10 items (clothes & shoes) to donate. We don't care so much about labels, we care about quality. As long as all items are in great condition, we can accept them (bring items you yourself would love to take away.) You drop them off then return an hour later (11am) to browse all the donations and choose 10 NEW-TO-YOU items.
Please note: No pyjamas, no sports wear & no underwear.
All items for the event must be dropped off between 10-10.30am so they can be sorted and ready for the swap.
The swap will start at 11am and will finish at 12noon- this is where you get to be brave and choose things you might not usually pick up in a shop!
Clothes Swapping is the best way to update your wardrobe without spending money and being kinder to the planet. Giving away items you no longer wear but you know they still have life in them.
Swap don't shop!

Reg Meuross Live

8pm   Earlybird Tickets £14 / Standard £16
“Reg’s terrific songs tell Woody’s life story with respect and affection, but also truth.”
Pete Townshend
Award-winning Reg Meuross was introduced onto the stage of the Albert Hall by Mike Harding as ‘one of this country’s finest’ and is a true modern troubadour, representing contemporary English folk writing at its best. Captivating audiences with his beautiful tenor voice, and with breadth and depth of material that is unparalleled, Reg has toured extensively for decades across the UK, Europe, North America and the Antipodes.
Masterfully accompanying himself on his ‘44 Martin six-string guitar, harmonica, tenor guitar, banjo and dulcimer, witnessing a Reg Meuross performance is to experience a journey into the heart, soul and songs of one of England’s most celebrated writers. Stories that need to be told; struggles that need to be known; injustice that needs to be uncovered; social conscience that needs to be celebrated – his music has an unrivalled power to reach and move the listener. After 15 critically-acclaimed albums, Reg continues to prove how highly relevant his songs are, whilst reaching new audiences with consistently spellbinding performances.
Reg is currently touring with songs from his extensive back catalogue and his new song-cycle Fire & Dust, due for release March 2025.  Fire & Dust, commissioned by Who legend Pete Townshend, delves into the life story of Woody Guthrie. A  journey into the heart and soul of one of America’s finest folk musicians - highlighting racism, bigotry, corruption and inequality.

Former Fairport Convention & Matthews Southern Comfort Star Iain Matthews With His Plainsong Colleague Andy Robert’s

7.30pm    Tickets £24

Iain Matthews is back touring the UK by popular demand... and this time he's bringing Andy Roberts. Thats half the legendary Plainsong live at The Globe Theatre Hay on Thursday 16th October 2025
Singer, song-writer and guitarist Iain Matthews was the original male singer in Fairport Convention, appearing on their first three classic albums, before leaving the band to form Matthews Southern Comfort. With the latter band, he scored a huge number one hit with an iconic cover of Joni Mitchell's Woodstock (which featured on the soundtrack to Daisy Jones & The Six). Next, he began his illustrious solo career (which continues to this day) and also formed the classic folk/rock/Americana band Plainsong with Andy Roberts...
Singer, songwriter and lead guitarist Andy Roberts had his first taste of fame as a member of the legendary poetry and music collectives, The Scaffold and Liverpool Scene, before establishing himself as a solo artist, songwriter and highly in-demand session guitarist and forming Plainsong with Iain. Post Plainsong, Andy toured as a guitarist on the Pink Floyd The Wall Tour, backed Billy Connelly, written TV and film scores and even provided music and voice for Spitting Image! From having huge hits with The Scaffold, to touring with Led Zeppelin, via being on an album produced by Jimi Hendrix to hanging out round at Paul McCartney's house, you name it: Andy's done it!
Expect fantastic harmonies, scintillating guitar playing and stories galore . Opening the show are the highly regarded Tamworth based folk trio The Raconteurs .As those who have been fortunate enough to catch them in full flight will testify, a Raconteur’s show is an exhilarating experience. Midlands based they may be but many from the many other parts of the UK have complimented them on their particularly stylish delivery of this virtuosic brand of folk . These three outstanding musicians have developed a tight bond, demonstrated through their well-crafted, tasteful arrangements and ability to bounce ideas around the stage. “Folk Just Got Better”:
